I bought a couple of these to mount on a lighting stand for use at gigs as a stage backlight but they have already proved more versatile than that. It is a standard 3x3x3 matrix chip (3 red 3 Blue 3 Green) and has a visible remote receiver in the lens area. The construction is more pressed steel than diecast like some other little floods but it works well and keeps the weight down. The only job that you HAVE to do is replace the mains cable. I always take the back off to check the wiring and then replace the very short length of mains cable to something more useable. I plugged them in to my current monitor and on full bright wight only managed to get the draw up to 6w so it looks like the driver is limiting them to low current which will mean the chip itself isnt over stressed. The amount of light given is plenty for a stage light or even as a party light in a pub function room. the remote control is a bonus, you don't need to worry about dmx controllers, or remote switches, you just put them in place and when you are ready, switch on with the remote and away you go! Perfect!
