I use this one to convert 8V into 12V, at about 12W. It's stable and efficiency is about 90% at these figures. The datasheet for the xl6009 specifies a minimum input of 5V, so minimum of 3.5V in the advert is too optimistic; at that voltage, it does not work properly, it locks up and draws high current.
