The flux is very thin, low residue. It works, but the flux at joint is depleted quickly. But it is the general property of low residue fluxes, so no big issue here. The pen itself looks solid. There is something like fountain pen cartridge. But you don't need to get a new cartridge - the old one can be easily refilled. The tip has spring loaded valve. I have to test it longer to determinate if the tip can withstand the flux and it's solvents in a long term. This is sometimes issue even with good quality tips, e.g. some Fisnar tips become very soft after some time.
