This amazing little multimeter has nice large digits in the display, a background light, and is relatively exact, compared to more high-end devices. Aneng have learned from the previous models (8002, 8008) and fixed some of the problems. Still, even if it is currentlsy "en vogue" to have an NCV option, I’d have preferred the little function generator of the AN8008 instead. Nobody needs an imprecise "oh, somewhere around this multimeter is live mains voltage" indication—there are much better tools for this (and one would probably measure it anyway). Another thing they should think about for the next model is an "Auto-off mode" for both measuring and backlight that can be DISABLED! It’s often a hassle just having found your measuring points and having to switch it on again because "auto-off" fired. Well, that’s of course complaining on a high level. All in all, this little gadget is great to have in the hobby lab or on the road. I’m watching ANENG developments and new devices with interest. Go buy one … or two :-)
