This was partly defective. I got it to work somehow as it could not be returned (my fault, as I had not saved the packaging bar codes and envelope intact - that are mandatory requirements for exchange/refund). I later on realized that this does not work in a damp environment - and LED stops working along with the display entirely after a few hours. Please note, I affix it at least 6-8 inches above the water level. I tried it a few times but it stopped working as soon as it got damp. I tried wrapping most part of it in a plastic bag but it stopped working again after 2 days. For the last 8 days, I have kept it outside the aquarium without food, and it seems to be working fine. So buy this in case you want an automatic machine, but this will NEVER feed your fishes unless you have an open aquarium where you can affix this at least a foot above the water level. Also, this does not have a time selection, so it will feed your fish at 12 hours interval but you can not decide when to start. For e.g. I had fit this at 5pm, and hoped to have the second feed at 5am in the morning - but it automatically chose a convenient time for itself - 12.10am and 12.10pm - I believe you have to live with this. In short, avoid buying this and go for something else.
