I bought this amplifier to use it at work with some old car speakers. First thing I noticed was the considerable hum noise when using the internal powersupply (supply it with 230V AC). Even turning the volume to zero did not help, still a hum in the speakers. When powering it from a clean 12V powersupply (lab powersupply) there was no hum. Investigating further (by taking the unit apart) showed that the amplifier chip is directly fed from the rectified voltage from the (old school) transformer, which was supplying 17.5 V with a 1Vpp ripple !! The oerall quality if the unit is ok, thin metal but quite sturdy. The powerswitch is in the mains line so no power used when switched off. The overall sound quality is quite OK, I used it with bluetooth and as an FM radio for which the reception was quite ok considering the short antenna. Overall the unit is ok, but power it with a seperate CLEAN powersupply or replace the transformer internally with a stabilized powersupply.
