Aside from the VERY long shipping time of 10 weeks (it was a pre-order and the expected arrival time was delayed), I am very happy with this device. I ordered two, and they came with English manuals contrary to what others received. Solidly built, and if the manual is read, very easy to understand all the functions. Arrived with a full battery charge. Of the two I received, one has a slightly stiffer encoder wheel, and the other has a slight clicking and momentary resistance in the rotary wheel once per revolution. These differences do not affect the operation or accuracy of the measurements of either unit, they simply feel slightly different when turning the wheel with my finger. In operation they feel the same. If I had only purchased one of them I wouldn't have noticed any issue at all. Again, both units work just fine. The accuracy is exact on both units. This was tested by measuring against a known 3 foot distance, moving both forward and in reverse several times. Moving backward reverses the measurement count, and the display always went back to zero and 36" after several movements back and forth. There is a calibration mode where the measurement can be adjusted if needed. It was not needed out of the box. Works well across most surfaces, but the rubber encoding wheel has problems on very smooth surfaces such as glass. The wheel slips on glass and measurements tended to be slightly different each time, sometimes up to and inch over an 18" distance. So not for glass.
