ScottNudds Followup. Kit assembled reasonably well. Pay close attention to the pictures before assembly. the rotory encoder actually does mount to the daughter board which is then mounted to the main board. Provides the proper offset for interior spacing.Unit works well for what it is. Doesn't seem to like operating at 6v, but is fine on 9. So a 9v battery is required, The board has optinal pins for powering the unit, but no facility for putting a 9v battery in the supplied case (bummer).

Delivery of this product was amazingly fast, ordered on March 30, and arrived on April 7. Holy smoke! I've grown accustomed with other services with delays on the order of several months. While I haven't assembled the kit, I've seen them assembled and working on line. Kit assembly is moderately complex, and someon who is familiar with soldering shouldn't have any difficulty. As scopes go this
