For dark areas there's nothing better than a headlamp, if you're in need of free hands. This lamp is very useful an has a nice price for the light that comes out. You can charge regular 18650 LiIon batterier with this device via a conventional 5V micro-USB socket. Badly the USB-cable that was delivered with the lamp wasn't working (but that is not a problem for me - every other standard micro-USB-cable fits perfectly an charges the lamp). So that's why I gave just 4 of 5 stars for the quality Batteries are not included. But that is also not a problem - you can use a pair of 18650 LiIon batteries of every used former Laptop-battery pack or from a battery pack of an electric power tool (like a drilling machine) even if the batteries were charged a hundred times. This lamp is working perfectly with that. But take care: disassemeled batteries of former battery-packs doesn't have a protection circuit any more. So disconnect the charger immeiateliy when charged, do not short circuit the batteries and charge under attention. Dont leave the batteries inside the lamp when you do not use it for a longer time. The manual says that it comes with 2 batteries but that's a mistake in the manual. It says also the colour is gold and black, but it's silver and black. In the manual the brand is "weina" and the model "T10-P". There's a useful description in the manual for the LED on the back of the lamp on the battery-case: Blue light: full electricity Red light: Less than 50% electricity Ficker red light: need to charge at once - less than 20% electricity Green light: Turn to green when full charged

I liked this lamp very much in the beginning. It has a nice soft button which is iluminated when the lamp is switched on. This light shows you the battery-status. If the battery is fully charged the button is green and will become red and after that flashing red when the voltage of the battery lowers. You have to insert a regular 18650 LiIon battery but it's not included (like you can read in the description). Charging via the micro-USB socket let the button flash red to show that it's charging. But it doesn't become green or so to show you that the battery is fully carged. It always flashes and flashes... The USB-cable that comes with the lamp is not working (it seems to me that this is a typical problem with cheap Xanes-lamps - I had the same with a Xanes headlamp) - but that is not a problem for me. You can switch it on with the button an choose the modes by tapping the button again (100% - 60% - 30% - flashing - sos - 100% - etc.). If you want to switch it off you have to press the button for a longer time and release it. The dead of the lamp comes slowly: First it was showing a flashing red button an told me I had to recharge, but somtimes the light was switching off without pressing the button even if the battery were fully charged (I tried it with several batteries to take care that batteries are not the problem). By shaking the lamp the light goes out sometimes and when I turn it on again it comes up darker an the button is flashing red. When I knock on the lamp softly sometimes it comes up with full light. So it seems to me that there must be a bad soldering joint inside of the lamp. It seems to me that charging via the micro-USB port is working normally (button is flashing red during the charging process). Somehow I still like the lamp - but the quality is not the best.
