Before first use, you need to remove the top cover to remove the foild from the display. As specified, this version does not include the battery, enclosure, shielding nor cables. However, the shielding can be added, the (SMD) spring clips are soldered on the boards so all you need is to fold some shielding boxes from tinned steel or copper foil. It operates very well, calibration settings can be stored and recalibration is not required every time (unlike some professional tools I work with). Software can be found at nanovna.com, although it works well without the PC interface. You just need to use it if you want to save the measurements as stepstone files. Firmware source code can also be found on the Github. Regarding the firmware; The menu structure is a bit quirky and requires some getting used to. Not much different with professional equipment. So all in all, good value for the money. If you are a radio amateur... you outta get this gadget or get the black version (which includes the shielding, cables and enclosure). But if you like to tinker... get this one. Shielding is not difficult to do and an enclosure can be 3D printed in any style you like.

I already had purchased the white version and liked that very much. So I also purchased the black version. For just a little more you get the shielding, the enclosure, the battery and the cables. It worked nicely, the battery was already charged when it was delivered so it worked straight out of the box. Calibration: Calibration is simple, but it is essential. And it is also essential to calibrate on the point where you want to measure, so if you use a cable, calibrate at the end of that cable. The number of calibration points is limited, so do not calibrate over the full spectrum but only for the part of the spectrum on which you will be performing the measurement. Up to 5 calibrations can be stored, meaning that you can calibrate for different frequency ranges and store those individually. The display is not very bright, in direct sunlight it will be poorly visible. So if you want to measure that antenna on the roof... in bright sunlight might not be the best moment. All in all, very good value for the money. Recommended.

I had this in use for several months and used it next to other (USB 2.0) HUBs. The speed difference made me realize that it was time to update the other two and get myself two extra USB 3.0 HUBs. The HUBs y arrrived within 2 weeks after ordering (Netherlands) so; rather fast! Unfortunatly on one of the power supplies the enclosure was open because internally a bit of plastic had broken off. The pcb showed some (poorly done) handsoldering, apparently it has been repeared and after repairing the screw was fastened too tight after which the plastic broke off. But I do not like to used this kind of power supply anyhow as I consider them unsafe and emitting a lot of electrical noise (it had no CE or UL marking and contained no EMI filtering whatsoever). The required supply is just a regular 5V/500mA supply with a 3mm power plug (1mm pin), so easy to replace. But the main thing is the hub and that works fine. One thing though, it is best to have its power supply activated before or at the same time you switch on the PC itself. The HUBs can operate on the power it receives from the PC but connected devices may not be recognized even if you later on activate the hub's power input. Normally I would disconnect a USB device to power it down, but with these hubs you can just toggle the switch and keep the wiring intact. Another plus is that the cable can be detached. This makes routing the cable a bit easier and allows replacement if its get damaged (USB 3.0 cables are more susceptable to damage than USB 2.0 cables, this due to the tighter requirements regarding cable impedances). Conclusion; the hub is great but discard the power supply and get yourself a wall adapter from a local source. Still, good value for money, fast delivery and (the HUB) is of good quality.

If you are easily scared then it may not be the gadget for you as this little gadget shows all kind of dirt and stains. Admitted, most are just water-stains (chalk) and not the bodily fluids that are often suggested. Although these can be detected as well. It operates like the usual torch, albeit with a more violet color. It works best in dark or low light conditions when the torch is used to shine almost parallel to the surface rather than directly towards it. In daylight conditions it is less usefull. All in all, a nice tool to detect stains!

As the title suggests; the case was slightly damaged on the top side, near the locking mechanism. Apart from that, the case was complete and had a vintage look and feel over it. The stones are relatively thick and heavy and have a nice print. The manual is printed on dark-grey paper, which gives a poor contrast with the very dark-grey font. It is recommended to scan it and 'photoshop' the result so as to improve readibility. All in all; a nice little box that can be used to play the game or can be used as a showpiece on your desk.... well, provided that it arrives undamaged.
