I ordered this tybe of cable, because I put my night commode close to the wall and I have already couble damaged cables. With this type, the 90° turned version, there is no way that you break the cable. The Plug itself is NO plastic, it is made from strong metal and holds a lot. The only drawback is, that the small lighntning connector is also 90° angled and I have some problems with my iPhone case. Sometime the case pushes the cable out and I have to put it back in. but for overnight use it is totally perfect!

It's a smart cable for both iPhone and non-iPhone phones ;) However, cable housing is pretty stiff, maybe it will become softer when I use it more. And you have to be careful, when you plug universal plug to your beloved phone as you can damage the port quite easily
