What draw me to this product was the promise of using it directly on a power bank and I was not disappointed, it works great. Yes, many power banks already have an LED on them, but that is always wide angle and short range. But this little thing, apart from the close range wide angle mode, you can also ZOOM the lens and brightly illuminate a small area at 50-100 meters away. Another feature that I like is the option to turn off the red led at the back, on the battery casing. There's no point for it to waste battery power if you're working indoors and no one needs to see you from behind. There's also micro USB charging, instead of the barrel type plug that comes with older models, so you can plug in any standard phone charging cable, less cables to carry with you on the go. The things I did not like so much now. The tilt action is very very stiff and noisy. And the light unit is not more secured to the head gear, just plugged in like into a regular computer USB plug, more or less. It looked like the light unit had some release clips on the sides, but those are ornamental, you can't actually push them, just grab on them to prevent the light unit from slipping out of wet fingers for instance. There was also a little light bleed back toward my face when I first powered it on, but that was easily fixed by completely screwing in the front glass, which came a bit loose right out of the box.
