Q: what gauge wire are these?

BG531022094 Itis difficult to say. Outer diameter (including insulation) =3.2 mm I estimate the wire to be - 1.2mm (holding against a strong light pinhole).

Product arrived pretty quick from China to Australia. Physical construction & display The meter itself has okay construction. It doesn't feel like a premium meter in the hand, nor does the price. I like the fact that the holster has two probe holders in the back. The holster is s pain to remove though. The good thing is that you don't need to remove the holster to change batteries. The screen is great, very clear display and readable from all angles even from above. I haven't measured the battery consumption though. I will update my review once I've done the measurement. The selector dial can get stuck between ranges. However, this doesn't happen easily during normal use. Test leads: The meter comes with a pair of silicone-insulated leads. I cannot tell the gauge of the wires because there's no markings on the wires. The probe handles are hard plastic, not rubberised. The protective caps are so tight they are near impossible to remove. I had to use a plier to get them off the first few times. I've been taking them off and putting them on over and over again, they're slightly easier to remove now, but it's still harder than what I'm happy with. Functionality: Functionality wise it has both auto and manual ranging. I don't see the benefit of the manual ranges on the selector dial. The result of having so many ranges on the dial is that the markings are VERY small to fit in all the modes. If you don't have good eye sight (lazy eyes for example), you're not gonna like this. The dual display is very convenient when measuring AC. The frequency is always displayed on the top right, saving you the trouble of having to press a button to see frequency. Measurements: Accuracy wise, it seems pretty accurate. I measured low voltages with an AD584 reference and it's well within tolerance. Auto-ranging in Ohms mode is on the slow side, but it's not the slowest I've seen. Overall, it's an okay meter. I wouldn't pay full retail price for this. At half price, I'd get it.
