GaryH Hi Kiasu. Yes this product is really waterproof. All the susceptible components are sealed and completely encased from where the insulated wires connect. I have had the First One i bought as a security light at the rear of my property screwed to the wall by the Left / Right cover guard. It has had thunderstorms and very heavy rain and reliably comes on every night operated by a Stand alone Dusk until Dawn switch, and at the moment because of dark nights it comes on for12 hours a night. I have no problem recommending this product. For the price it is Fantastic. Only slight issue is Short wires are connected to the unit but is simple to extend with waterproof connector if longer wire needed. Hope this helps.
