Q: how is this 50W when then tech specs show max 38W?

Echobot Power = Voltage x Current. So this unit is 12V x 3.2A = 38.4 Watts. This is NOT a 50 Watt unit. The claimed Optical Output power is 10 Watts. The only way to be sure that this 10 Watt figure is accurate, is to measure it with an Optical Power Meter.

Q: This is listed as a 18W radio but in the video, the test shows it's only 5 Watts output. Why is there a difference?

Hudson The advertised 18w is actually the wattage of the battery, give or take a bit. 7x2.8= 19.6w.

The stones are good quality and it is clear that they did prepare the surface of the two knives I tried sharpening, however I was not able to get them sharp. I'm sure that the problem is not the stones, but that I was not using the correct technique and that some more research and practice is required.

The load works as advertised. It's actually good value for the money. The Android App is good but I can't seem to save the data that is captured in the graphs, so unless I'm doing something wrong, that could be improved upon. I haven't tried the PC software yet; hopefully you can save the data there. Other than that, the unit works well. You can adjust the load to different settings when it is running, so when testing a switch mode supply, you can increase the load until the supply stops regulating and easily work out what its capacity is. I had no trouble setting up the Bluetooth app on the android and using the unit without having the read the manual, so it's pretty intuitive in my opinion. There's no way I could build something as versatile for the price, so I think it's great value.

This device worked as advertised. The display updates quickly in real time and the resolution is excellent. The sensitivity is OK but not fantastic. I can pick up my access point from about 5m away, but it would be a great improvement if you could attach an external antenna to improve range. For the price, it's great value in my opinion. I can quickly check to see whether my 2.4Ghz devices are interfering with each other or operating on different parts of the spectrum.
