Treblig Iwould recommend staying away from knock-off FTDI chip. Plan B: other serial converters are using other chips but FTDI and they won't give you the level of frustration FTDI drivers may give you (they've been known for bricking knock-off devices). Plan C: buy a genuine FTDI board from FTDI resellers but be ready to fork $$$.
